Common Pests
Yellow Jacket
Yellow jackets are yellow and black, measuring ½ inches long. They are paper wasps and not bees as they do not pollinate. Paper wasps build a multilayered hive that is either exposed or within a void. If you see these wasps going in and out of a hole, do not plug it up as this will force the wasps to travel through the walls looking for another way out. This only makes control efforts more costly for you. Often times these wasps will nest above a ceiling evidenced by staining that looks like a water spot. Do not touch it as the wallboard is gone and the only thing between you and the wasps is paper. If you are allergic to stings, this wasp can be deadly. Colonies can have several thousand individuals and without protection you will get stung. We can eliminate them with a one-time service.
